Indiana Artisan Juries in Sisters of St. Benedict’s Hildegard Crunch Mix
The Sisters of St. Benedict’s cookies have been juried in as Indiana Artisan, and now so has their newest product, the St. Hildegard Crunch Mix. Indiana Artisan is the state’s official organization to identify, recognize and promote the work of Indiana’s highest-quality art and food artisans, helping define this state’s culture through remarkable Indiana-made goods.
Notifying the Sisters of their latest designation, Rosalyn Demaree of Indiana Artisan said, “The Indiana Artisan art jury panel thought your work was exceptional.”
Sister Jean Marie Ballard was very pleased to receive word that St. Hildegard Crunch Mix could carry the Indiana Artisan logo. Sister Jean Marie said, “The Sisters and bakery staff are so pleased that our St. Hildegard Crunch Mix has been recognized with an Indiana Artisan designation. Our customers have told us how much they enjoy the new mix, so we are pleased that the judges agree.” Sister Jean Marie went on to congratulate and recognize Kris Lasher, the bakery’s manager, for her work creating the recipe. “Kris Lasher has been instrumental in our new recipe development. Kris identified just the right mix of ingredients for St. Hildegard Crunch Mix; and she continues to develop potential new recipes for future bakery items as well!”
St. Hildegard Crunch Mix is made from the top-selling Hildegard Cookies, which offer the warming flavors of cinnamon and nutmeg. Dried cranberries, almond slivers, canola oil, and honey are added to make the delicious snack.
