1 Part-time, Hourly Baker

Basic function: Prepare and bake Monastery Baked Goods products.

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Measuring and combining ingredients and using mixers, blenders, heat sources and other equipment to make baked goods.
  2. Review recipe changes with Bakery Manager
  3. Testing ingredients and goods to ensure each item meets food safety and quality controls.
  4. Check stock for needs and report needs to Bakery Manager
  5. Cleaning workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift.
  6. Perform other duties as needed.

Education and experience:

  1. A high school diploma/GED and over 6+ months of comparable work experience.
  2. Professional bakery training preferred.
  3. Basic knowledge of simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc.

Physical demands:

Moderate physical effort required involving long periods of standing, walking on rough surfaces, bending and/or stooping, Periodic lifting of over 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs.

2 Part-time, Hourly Bakery Assistants

Basic Function: Assist in the preparation, production, clean-up, and packaging of bakery products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the preparation, production and packaging of baked goods according to company specifications and instructions.
  2. Clean up bakery utensils and equipment
  3. Assist in filling and maintain stock
  4. Assist with inventory tracking

Universal Health Worker, Hourly

NIGHT SHIFT 32-40 hrs/week includes every other weekend

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist sisters with self-administration of medications as needed.
  • Assist sisters with keeping their individual bedrooms/bathrooms clean.
  • Assist sisters with bathing and personal care as needed.  Clean tub/shower after care.
  • Assist sisters with tasks related to dining and food preparation.
  • Assist sisters with keeping mobility devices—rollators, wheelchairs, walkers, motorized carts clean and safely functional.
  • Clean equipment in physical therapy room and assist with keeping equipment functional.  Notify Community Health staff when repairs are needed.
  • Clean bathroom adjoining Physical Therapy room weekly.
  • Assist sisters with personal laundry including bed linens/bed making as needed.
  • Check vital signs (Temperature, Blood Pressure, and Pulse) with training as needed.
  • Clean Community Health Office and bathroom (room 416) weekly.
  • Monitor Nurse Call System during time on duty.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Performs some clerical work on the medical records.
  • Use effective communication skills and be able to work with the elderly and those who are ill.
  • Able to measure and comprehend certain quantities.
  • Ability to lift some; 20-50 pounds occasionally; 10-20 pounds frequently.
  • Other duties as assigned that are within the scope of nurse aid practice.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Follow standardize recipes for food preparation.

6. Clean equipment, etc. according to posted cleaning schedules.
7. Follow established policies and procedures regarding sanitation.

Additional Responsibilities:
1. Measure ingredients for recipes.
2. Perform other duties as assigned.
3. Attend staff meetings as necessary.
4. Follow all sanitation rules (hair nets, gloves, wardrobe, cell phones)

Education and Experience: A high school diploma or GED, and over six and up to twelve month’s experience preferred.

Skills and Traits Required:
1. Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc.
2. Ability to communicate verbally and understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
3. Job may require limited training or knowledge in the operation and use of Industrial Equipment, Thermometers, and Sanitation Chemicals.
4. Prefer some training or knowledge in cooking and baking.
5. Moderate physical strength/stamina required involving long periods of standing, walking on rough surfaces, bending and/or stooping; periodic lifting of moderately heavy items (over 25 pounds and up to 50 pounds).

 

 


Office Assistant, Part-time

Our Mission Advancement office is looking for an organized, detail-oriented individual to assist with clerical duties as needed to support the department and its mission of support for the Sisters of St. Benedict.

Essential responsibilities include: assisting with data entry of gifts, process and assist with the direct mail program, prepare and edit letters, correspondence, and reports weekly and assist with office functions as needed.

Knowledge requirements:Ability to type and use a computer, strong knowledge of Word and Excel, strong written and verbal communication skills, experience with Blackbaud or similar CRM Database preferred.

Education and Experience: High school or GED equivalent required; Associates degree a plus. 1+ year of administrative experience required.
