What attracted me to this community: I had been a member of the Sisters of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, MN in the 1970s. I left the community in 1978 and began working as an accountant, joined the MN Army National Guard and continued my education. During graduate school, I began to reclaim my Benedictine heritage. While visiting St. Meinrad and Ferdinand, I realized that my deepest desire was to live fully the Benedictine monastic life. The sisters here at Ferdinand seemed to be the community God was calling me to.
