A Rare Opportunity to Play an Exclusive Louisville Country Club

Make one visit to Hurstbourne Country Club and you’ll see instantly why it’s one of the grandest names in Kentucky golf. A lingering look at the majestic clubhouse, a former family mansion dating back to the mid-1800s, might only be upstaged by the sweeping beauty of the newly redesigned 18-hole Championship Course.

It’s a course that Lee Trevino, Gary Player, President Gerald Ford, and Mickey Mantle played on, that Bob Hope cracked jokes on, where Joe Louis may have wanted to punch something, or could have inspired Perry Como to sing while he played.

But one thing is certain – the complete renovation of the course in 2004-2005 has many thinking it’s the best in town. The revitalization, which closed the course for a year to rebuild all the tees, greens, and bunkers, was enough to convince PGA of America to hold its main fundraiser there in 2008, the Ryder Cup Captain’s Challenge.

And now the Dome Classic gives you a grand chance to play a private course for a grand cause. Hurstbourne provides all the amenities one could expect from a member-only club. And the services the Sisters of St. Benedict provide for those in need are as worthy as can be. For instance, a couple of the sisters who live in Louisville work diligently to help care for the thousands of Louisville homeless. Other sisters in the city deliver an education to children as only the religious can.
