Simply Divine Bakery
At the monastery, baking cookies is a hands-on process with a personal touch and a divine dimension. Chief baker Sister Barbara Jean Luebbehusen considers working with the dough “a sacred experience.”
“I feel closer to God when I’m preparing the cookies,” she says. Our bakers are artisans of the monastery, who are living out the words of St. Benedict: “Then are they truly monastics when they live by the labor of their hands.”
