Retreats offer the opportunity to get away and to find time to journey with your God. Retreats range in length from one to 10 days. Silence is an integral part of most retreats.

Retreat: The Way of St. Benedict Through Scripture |

Benedict’s Way is Christ’s Way, and we discern that Way through the pages of Sacred Scripture. This retreat combines a love of storytelling, both personal and communal, with the parables of the Gospels. Our hope is to discern the parable of monastic living, a reality ever new and vital. |

| Intensive Centering Prayer Retreat |

| Deepen your understanding of the spiritual and psychological foundations for Centering Prayer. Each day will include four hours of Centering Prayer, conferences, videotapes, discussion, and Mass. Practice of Centering Prayer for three months is a prerequisite for this silent retreat. |

Guided Retreat: Living the Benedictine Way Creatively |
June 27 - July 3, 2008 |
6:30 p.m. check in time. Retreat begins at 7 p.m. Friday and runs to 6 p.m. the following Thursday. (Program held at Kordes Center) |
Benedictine themes such as prayer, community, conversion, hospitality, and service will be presented through creative expressions to explore more deeply the Benedictine charism and ways to live it. Different mediums will be available for personal creative exploration. Rituals will be part of the daily prayer experience. Opportunities will be available for individual conferences with one of the presenters. |
Sister Betty Drewes, OSB, and Joan Zehnder. Sister Betty Drewes is currently on the Leadership Team and director of Ongoing Formation for the Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand. Her background includes education, pastoral ministry, counseling, retreat and spiritual direction ministry. Joan Zehnder is a registered art-psychotherapist working in Louisville and is a member of the American and Kentucky Art Therapy Associations. She has created and facilitated workshops, retreats, and days of recollection. She is also trained in spiritual direction. |

AA Reflection Day |
November 22, 2008 |

Step Three: “Made a decision to turn my will and my life over to the care of God.” By means of conferences, reflection, and discussion, we will explore how Step Three leads us to spiritual transformation — to becoming more the person God wants us to be. |
Sister Mary Claude Croteau, OSB, ministered in drug/alcohol hospital-based programs for 13 years. She has a master’s degree in addiction counseling and is very familiar with AA literature and with the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. She currently does spiritual direction.

The Centering Prayer Retreat includes conferences to renew the method of Centering Prayer and a moderate amount of Centering Prayer in common.
The Intensive Centering Prayer Retreat provides an opportunity to be immersed in the practice of Centering Prayer as taught by Contemplative Outreach. The Intensive features Parts I, II, III of the “Spiritual Journey” videotape series by Father Thomas Keating. Prior Centering Prayer Retreat experience is required. |
Sister Kathy Bilskie, OSB, and Sister Maria Tasto, OSB, are certified presenters of Centering Prayer and have facilitated many Centering Prayer retreats and programs. They are both spiritual directors. Sister Maria has been a member of the resource faculty of Contemplative Outreach and continues to be an active member of the Lectio Divina service team of the faculty. |
