Topic: Praying with Movement and Dance
At times, people are drawn to stillness and silence at prayer; at other times, they may feel called to an active response in expressing their emotions. This program will explore ways to express emotion in prayer through movement, music, and gesture. Using movement at private prayer will be the main emphasis, and aspects of liturgical dance as a preparation for prayer will be explored.
Theresa Tremmel has extensive background and experience in ballet. She majored in ballet at United States International University in La Jolla, California, and danced with the San Diego Ballet Company. She also worked with and studied ritual liturgy in prayer.
