The Call 

The Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand have released a new CD recording of instrumental music entitled The Call. Billed as music for reflective listening, The Call was inspired by the collective dream of the Ferdinand Benedictine community to be a beacon of light radiating peace and hope to God’s world.

The recording features seven original compositions by Sister Mary Louise Uebelhor, three of which were inspired by areas around the monastery — The Grotto, The Winding Stairs, and Rays from the Dome. Also included are compositions by Sisters Brenda Engleman, Anita Louise Lowe, and Rose Wildeman, as well as familiar hymns and classical pieces such as Schubert’s Ave Maria and Franck’s Panis Angelicus.  

Featuring piano, harp, cello, flute, piccolo, guitar, bass, hand bells, and trumpet, this CD offers music for relaxation, healing, comfort, and peace. Song clips are available below.

Ideal for gifts, The Call is available at For Heaven’s Sake, the monastery gift shop in Ferdinand, and online. Proceeds from the recording will be used for the care of the senior sisters.
