Maria, 9 years old

Lord please keep everone safe in the world and
please forgive all sinners and let us have world peace.

Amen

Kate, 12 years old

I am a Catholic.
I wonder if I will be a saint someday.
I hear my friends' voice.
I see my friends and family.
I want to be close to God.
I am a Catholic.
I feel happiness.
I touch the Holy Bible.
I worry that I won't go to heaven.
I cry when I think about the crucifixion.
I understand that God loves me.
I say that you should trust God.
I dream I will go to heaven someday.
I try my best to be a good Catholic.
I hope I will meet God.
I understand that God loves me.

Friends 2

I may have said this prayer before
But I need to pray it again
Of all the gifts You've given me,
I thank You most for friends.

A person who can smile wide
Who sees the bright side of things
Someone you can lean on,
Thanks for the joy a friend brings.

The one you can relax around
And just be yourself with them
They understand the pain of life,
At times when hope is dim.

Amidst all my friends through my life
Jesus, You've been most faithful
Help me learn to be like You,
Of Your love I'm most grateful.

I Need You

You're where I turn when hope is lost
Where I turn when I'm blue
I'll never make it on my own...
The truth is, I need You.

You're a breath of wind on a lonesome day
And a spark for a fire anew
Without You I have nothing here...
In everything, I need You.

You're here when I'm let down again
Devoted, You're tried and true
You suffered, died, and bled for us...
I know I still need You.

You're a smile upon the face of a friend
And a warm hug when leaving, adieu
When hope is lost, or when hope is found...
Eternally I will need You.

FAITH

F is for fantastical, and also for flying free Living for only You because You're the one I seek You're amazing and unusual, yet I'm indiscriminately released You saved me from all sin and death- You're a light unto my feet.

A is for amazing, and anonymously above
The awesome power of our Lord comes solely from his love Always believing, never doubt- God is always true You'll never leave us, yet all You ask is devotion unto You.

I is for impossible, yet with infinite intent Once Jesus died and rose for us, it's obvious where He went Christ is not the only one whose faith lasts eternally I'll always believe and spread Your word unto captives and the free.

T is for truthful, and the triune Trinity You are one God, undeniably, and yet You're also three I believe in all You are, and all that's taken place Someday we'll be together, for he's there unto each race.

H is for holiness, as part human, heaven sent Christ came for us as a man, so sinners could repent He teaches us good morals, sets a way to follow, a frame God wants to know us personally, and he calls us each by name.

Valentine's Day

Hey God. It's Valentine's Day and
Amidst flowers, balloons, and candy,
I can't help feeling left out.
It makes me sometimes wonder:
What's Valentine's Day really about?

I like to think that it's for more
Than nowadays throwaway love...
I prefer to think of Your Son.
From His pure love came sacrifice
Life for us He's won!

So simply believing in Your love
And sacrifice made for me
Brings joy this Valentine's Day.
So thanks, God, just for listening
And showing me Your way.

Crosses

Jesus, you gave us all a cross,
A burden that we must carry
This weight we bear at times may seem
Just the tiniest bit scary.

Well, not scary so much as impossible
Or improbable, at best-
This load that has been placed on us
To carry without rest.

At times, You know we struggle
Or fall, and You have, too.
Only with Your strength will we succeed
Because You'll see us through.

But it's our cross, our weight to bear
You haven't chosen it out of odds...
With faith in you we'll make it-
Not with our own strength, but God's.

A Prayer for Friends

Dear God, be with my friends today
Because I love them so
Protect them every instant now
Though you're busy, I know.

These people mean so much to me
And without them, I'd be lost
If it were in my power, I'd
Protect them at all cost.

But of course, I'm not that strong
I'm a mortal- still quite weak.
So in the refuge of your love
Their safety's what I seek.

For Satan prowls the world freely
His false enticements strong.
So God, just please watch over them
So they'll know right from wrong.

Writer's Prayer

God, please fill my pencil
And be in my ink pen
Give me inspiration
To write this once again.

Holy spirit, fill me
With words that fit just right
Let these words flow smooth and true
And let me show Your might.

For only with You in me
Will I get this writing done
It is You alone that live in me
As I've shown everyone.

So Jesus, speak through me
Or rather, from this sheet
Help me spread Your word around
To everyone I meet-

So everyone can meet You
In Your mighty and glorious home
So once we get to heaven,
Us sheep will no longer roam.

God of heaven above, we pray
That You watch over us this day.
Give us the knowledge so that we know
Which path is straight, and down it we'll go.
You know that the path is hard to choose
When friends betray, or just confuse.
But I know You too have felt it all
And will help us up if we happen to fall.

Jesus Christ (and Mary, too)
Be with us and love us anew.
As Mary once let go of her Son
And Jesus died -it had to be done-
Let us offer our sufferings and pain.
It may hurt now, but heaven's to gain!
So just remember if you suffer a loss
Jesus will gladly take it up on the cross.

Holy Spirit, just like a dove,
Help us through with undying love.
And kindle a flame within our heart
So eternally we'll never be apart.
With one small flame, let me spread the fire
To share with others a burning desire.
So that the whole world may know God's love
And make it to Heaven above!

Amen.

God
God is good,
God is great,
God loves you,
SO much!

Heather, 16 years old
Dear God please help me with being more like you.

Tommy, 9 years old

Dear Jesus,

It is almost Christmas. It would be nice if you could help out those people in need. I think the homeless, poor, and sick could use your help the most. There are people dying from starvation, and I don't think that is good.

Everyone needs some help sometimes. I could use help when I am feeling sad. My family could use help when we have a hard time paying the bills. My friends could use help when they feel they have no one to talk to. And my classmates could use help when someone is picking on them.

I will let people know about you by talking about you and about how you gave your life for us. I wish more people would pray and realize that if they have you in their heart, they will always have a friend.

When your birthday comes, my family and I will have a big celebration. My family is coming to my house. We will have a large feast. My little sister, she's 4, says we have to have a birthday cake for you. My mom will bake one, and we will sing "Happy Birthday" to you. I hope you hear us.

Your friend,
Tommy
